NICK SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS EXHIBITION IN A VATICAN MUSEUM..

Nick has been invited to exhibit at one of Italy’s most distinguished contemporary art exhibitions, Mostra d’Arte Contemporanea – Gaeta, an invitation reserved for an elite group of accomplished international artists.

The exhibition is being held at the Museo Diocesano in the historic coastal city of Gaeta, near Rome. The museum is one of the Vatican’s museum spaces, making the invitation a particularly prestigious honour. Running from 4–27 July 2026 as part of the Medina Summer Edition, the exhibition has been curated by Valeria Rufini Ferranti and Mariacarmela Mazzeo, bringing together an elite collection of painters, sculptors and photographers from across Europe.

For Nick, whose portrait photography has become synonymous with authenticity and musical history, the invitation represents another milestone in a career spanning more than four decades.

Rather than selecting a broad portfolio, Nick chose two images that perfectly reflect his distinctive style and enduring connection with rock royalty.

The centrepiece of Nick’s exhibition is his iconic portrait of Debbie Harry, the legendary frontwoman of Blondie. One of his most celebrated images, it captures the style, confidence and charisma that made Harry a global icon.

Alongside it is a compelling portrait of celebrated guitarist Earl Slick, whose extraordinary career has seen him perform with David Bowie, John Lennon and countless other music legends. Nick’s portrait captures the quiet intensity and character behind one of rock’s most respected musicians, demonstrating his remarkable ability to reveal the personality behind the performer.

Unlike many celebrity photographers, Nick is renowned for creating portraits that feel deeply personal rather than manufactured. His work is built on trust between photographer and subject, allowing viewers to experience moments of honesty and authenticity that are rarely seen in commercial photography.

The exhibition provides visitors with the opportunity to experience these remarkable portraits within the magnificent surroundings of the Museo Diocesano. The contrast between the historic museum and Nick’s contemporary portraits creates a powerful dialogue between tradition, music and fine art.
