Ice Cream & Sun Cream

Ahead of the release of a book of rock images due out later in the year, we’re delighted to announce the launch of Nick’s fourth publication: Ice Cream & Sun Cream.

A very personal project, this limited edition, fine art, book features a collection of images by the renowned rock art photographer but shot as seen through the eyes of an eight year old boy.

Nick set out to capture the innocence and fantasy world that he would have created himself in his mind when he was that boy on holiday with his family:

“This has been very much a personal project for me and one that’s taken me almost two years, working around other commitments.

“I wanted to commemorate, through a body of work, the importance of the guidance and encouragement that my Dad had given me at that time when he bought me my first serious camera. These two-week holidays were very much about recording the events of me, my brother, and my Mum and Dad, as we always did in those days.”

This 166 page high quality soft-backed book features over 200 images shot on location in Norfolk, UK, a place where Nick and his family used to visit.

“I wanted to shoot a project in Norfolk, that would provoke a mood, a romance, and a time, as seen through the eyes of an eight year old boy. I hope that this collection of images portrays the simplicity of that period, and truly captures the innocence and the fantasy world that I created in my mind at that time.”
