The COVID-19 Pandemic has derailed the music business causing destructive soundwaves Ripling out and destroying years of music workers livelihoods.
Nick has voiced his concern on the ensuing Pandemic and the long-standing effects it will have on the live music business and his friends within it. “ the Pandemic has ground the U.K.’s multi million pound music business to a halt, causing catastrophic knock on affect to everyone associated within the industry. Not only affecting artists but record labels, independent recording companies, freelancers, venues, festivals and agents. This year could change the face of the music industry for ever”

Thousands of festivals and tours have been cancelled or postponed leaving creatives and their fans feeling uncertainty for the future. The music and entertainment industry relies on their heavily freelance creative workforce. The loss of their income, usually for completed work only, may force many creatives out of the industry forever. Many talented people could find themselves redeployed into vocations that do not represent their talents, which will be a total loss for the UK’s music industry.
“ I’m particularly worried about the new aspiring musical acts who rely on live music festivals and tours to showcase their talents and get a footing on the music ladder many talented artists may go undiscovered“
The rise of music streaming, virtual live shows, podcasts and FB streaming is encouraging and many have found innovative ways to keep the music live and to keep fans listening.

“ I think that once we come out of the other side of this, the music industry will experience a boom. If artists and their associated workers can survive this brief period of hardship there is a potential for the music industry to begin to thrive again as fans flock back to the music scene.

Dead Reynolds, Dead Good…

Dead Reynolds were one of the new up-and-coming Inspiring acts playing at the Dukes Head Ballroom, Kings Lynn’s Marketplace on Saturday the 22nd February.
Nick could not resist the invitation to pop along to meet up with the guys and peruse the new talent. Callum (Lead Vocals), Ben (Bass Guitar), Dom (Lead Guitar), Luke (Rhythm Guitar), and the band’s drummer Luke, collectively known as Dead Reynolds have been together for just two years, but the chemistry and the talent that Oozes from their performance is indisputable.
The event hosted by Triston Finnis Owner of Twisted Melon Promotions, showcased 10 new musical acts that wowed the audience.
Although this years Kings Lynn festival Too has been unfortunately postponed, next years event will be better than ever. The festival also promoted by Twisted Melon Promotions, will feature a ‘Battle of the Bands’ event and our very own Nick has been invited onto the judging panel. Hopefully Dead Reynolds will find time in their busy schedule to give the crowd a musical treat as they did last year.

Going country with Keith and Jo…

Earlier this year Nick caught up with his old friend Jo Lopez at the O2 arena in London. Nick had been invited as a personal guest of Grammy award winner Keith Urban, to attend his sell-out graffiti U tour, combined with the C2C festival.
Jo Lopez was guitar tech for the big Countryman himself, which was a great opportunity for these two close friends to get together stage side before the gig. The boys soaked up the pre-gig atmosphere, whilst listening to the opening acts of Brett Eldridge and Chase Rice, who warmed the crowd up nicely. Jo has previously guitar teched for other heavyweights in the music industry including Bruce ‘the boss’ Springsteen and his E Street band.
Also present at the concert was Nick’s friend and agent Lee Williams, taking the opportunity to pick up an interview with Keith and Nick before the show.
Keith Urban rocked to the arena in his usual style he had the 21,000 strong crowd up on their feet to heel to toeing and dreaming of a road trip on Route 66.
The little pocket guard drew in the crowd and sang to everyone as if it was for their ears only. A fantastic boot tapping, Stetson wearing night.
Urbans presents on stage was mesmerising and well overdue after his 12 year absence from UK soil.

Earl Slick, Glen Matlock and Nick Elliott at The Waterfront in Norwich UK…

Earl Slick and the founder member of the Sex Pistols, Glen Matlock throughout the summer have been playing to packed venues across the UK as they continue their tour together.
Nick caught up with them towards the end of May at the Waterfront in Norwich picking it up halfway through the tour. Not one more punter could be squeezed into the venue. And The Philistine‘s performed effortlessly to a cheering crowd.
Nick was invited by Earl to do what he does best and shot the whole show, these images will be released sometime next year in a very special picture book project that the two have been working on for the past four years.
Some well known faces in the crowd included Dave Donley and the wonderful Jess Smith, who was Earls guitar tech on the night.

Breaking news…Nick Elliott to be represented by International Images TV

After nearly a year of negotiations, headed by Nick’s agent, Lee Williams, 13 Limited Edition, never before seen images by Nick are to be showcased on TV, and you have a chance to purchase one of these unique fine art images.
International images TV have accepted 13 previously unseen fine art images created by Nick of music artists including Robert Plant, Lemmy, Blondie, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Joe Elliott, Ozzy Osbourne, Roger Daltrey, Neils Lofgren, and ZZ Top.
The images will be released in an international images TV show, hosted by ex-BBC DJ Mike Reid, early next year on sky TV.
Nick will also be seen on screen with Mike as he co-host’s the show, and takes the opportunity to discuss his career, his life‘s work and his archived collection of unseen images. The art show series is dedicated to a very small, select, elite body of world famous photographers, whom Nick is truly gracious to be considered part of. The likes of Helmut Newton, of Vogue photography fame and Frank Worth, famous for his candid depictions of Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, will be shown alongside Nicks work.

Out of the Darkness with Ed Graham…

Since Ed Graham left the darkness and nurtured his own band ‘Puppets to the Supreme Commander’ ; Nick has been documenting Ed’s professional and personal development by creating pieces of fine art through the medium of photography.
The project titled “Out of the Darkness” , allowed Nick to document Ed’s creative musical genius, capturing the founder member of the one of the biggest rock bands that the UK is ever produced.
Nick has been collaborating with Ed for the past 3 1/2 years and is nearing completion. The end product will be a fine art coffee table book, containing candid shots of Ed in the unique style that is Nick Elliott.

Festival Too Kings Lynn UK…

The remarkable thing about the Kings Lynn Festival Too is not the exceptionally top quality artist’s that came to play, or the 6000+ strong crowd, or the wonderful outdoor central venue of Kings Lynn. The remarkable thing about this festival is that it’s free!
Nick was personally invited to shoot the headlining act ‘Cast’ and Marty Pellow, by the organisers of the festival. Nick took in the atmosphere and caught up with the wonderful band Cast and the charming Marty Pellow. A selection of these finished images will be showcased at the end of the year on Nick’s portfolio at nick elliott.photography

Nick and Slick…

Nick’s long-standing project with Earl Slick is nearing its completion. For the last four years Nick has been shooting Earl for a fine art book containing candid and performance shots of this music legend.
Earl, David Bowie‘s lead guitarist who toured with him for several years, takes the opportunity to hook up with Nick when he’s over from the USA, to continue the project.
Nick’s fine art photographic book will be released early next year in conjunction with Earl’s autobiography published by Penguin, depicting his work with the musical heavyweights such as John Lennon and the New York dolls.
