A personal experience of loss by nick elliott

Continuing after dark side of my mind Nick has followed up with an equally thought-provoking exploration of his personal experiences of loss.

“These images are an expression of my own experiences of personal loss. They are meant to disturb you, they’re meant to shock you, they are meant to upset you that’s what loss represents.

Nick Elliott

Nick has produced a collection of powerfully hard-hitting and disturbing images depicting his personal loss. Whilst dissecting his own feelings of loss through the years, Nick has pulled on all of his resources to create a groundbreaking, self expressive and visually shocking display of loss.

These images are like nothing ever before taken by Nick Elliott. There are a total contrast to his rock art photography, which invoke many personal emotions from the artist himself.

The self representation of these images is a total step away from anything Nick has created previously, and it takes him from the viewfinder to the front of the camera.

These images will be exhibited in selected galleries around London and Europe next year.

Going country with Keith and Jo…

Earlier this year Nick caught up with his old friend Jo Lopez at the O2 arena in London. Nick had been invited as a personal guest of Grammy award winner Keith Urban, to attend his sell-out graffiti U tour, combined with the C2C festival.

Jo Lopez was guitar tech for the big Countryman himself, which was a great opportunity for these two close friends to get together stage side before the gig. The boys soaked up the pre-gig atmosphere, whilst listening to the opening acts of Brett Eldridge and Chase Rice, who warmed the crowd up nicely. Jo has previously guitar teched for other heavyweights in the music industry including Bruce ‘the boss’ Springsteen and his E Street band.

Also present at the concert was Nick’s friend and agent Lee Williams, taking the opportunity to pick up an interview with Keith and Nick before the show.

Keith Urban rocked to the arena in his usual style he had the 21,000 strong crowd up on their feet to heel to toeing and dreaming of a road trip on Route 66.

The little pocket guard drew in the crowd and sang to everyone as if it was for their ears only. A fantastic boot tapping, Stetson wearing night.

Urbans presents on stage was mesmerising and well overdue after his 12 year absence from UK soil.

“It was a great opportunity to see these two very special guys, they are an important part of my life, and the gig was absolutely kicking. Keith Urban is a great showman”

Earl Slick and the founder member of the Sex Pistols, Glen Matlock throughout the summer have been playing to packed venues across the UK as they continue their tour together.

Nick caught up with them towards the end of May at the Waterfront in Norwich picking it up halfway through the tour. Not one more punter could be squeezed into the venue. And The Philistine‘s performed effortlessly to a cheering crowd.

Nick was invited by Earl to do what he does best and shot the whole show, these images will be released sometime next year in a very special picture book project that the two have been working on for the past four years.

Some well  known faces in the crowd included Dave Donley and the wonderful  Jess Smith, who was Earls guitar tech on the night.

Dark side of Nick Elliott’s mind….

9503FA56-035E-475B-9DC1-A3D72CD4014E Over the past 18 months Nick has been exploring a revolutionary art project set to take the photographic fine art world by storm, with an innovational look into the dark side of his mind.

“I’ve taken my creativity to another level. This is totally different to anything I’ve ever done before. I have developed emotionally, physically and personally, it’s kinda liberating really”

Nick Elliott

Nick has explored what makes him tick, and delved into his innermost personal thoughts to capture this innovating concept through the medium of photography, creating exquisite thought-provoking pieces of art.

Nicks images depict his extremely personal neoteric, harrowing conceptions and the restlessness of his creative mind.  Shocking but compulsive viewing.

These images are expected to be exhibited alongside his loss project in selected galleries around London and Europe next year.

The single is available for download from July 4th but the video is out now and looking, and sounding, wonderful.

So take a peek now…and don’t forget to look out at 29 and 1.09 for Nick!

One of the more creative photographic areas that Nick is often asked to work in is the production of a photographic documentary and this year Nick is fortunate enough to be involved in two such projects.

The first is an intimate glimpse into the personal and professional life of Ed Graham, co-founder and drummer of rock band The Darkness until July last year, and drummer with heavy metal band Stone Gods.

Celebrating Rory Gallagher

Nick 7 Nick with Rory Gallagher’s famous Strat

Nick has never made any secret of the fact that his favourite artist of all time is the rock blues guitarist, Rory Gallagher.

Earlier this week he was invited by The Ambassador of Ireland to a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Rory’s legendary Irish Tour ’74.

Held at the Embassy of Ireland, the celebrations attracted many famous faces including lots of Nick’s musician friends, one of which was the Whitesnake’s Bernie Marsden, who has toured a tribute to Rory with his original band and playing Rory’s guitars.

And talking of guitars…Rory’s legendary Strat also made an appearance!

The event gained lots of media coverage and Nick’s photo with Bernie was taken by the Irish Post, but if you want to see more photos take a look at Nick’s snap book.
